Qatar is getting ready to host the 2022 FIFA World Cup. With this huge event bringing in a surplus of tourism and investment as well as boosting positive sentiment across the country’s business landscape, the looming question remains – what lies beyond 2022? Join us at this event where our panelists will explore the many possibilities that are available with Qatar and leave having a better understanding of "how to". Panelists:

Jeroen Nijland, Director of Investor Relations Department and Special Advisor of Invest Qatar will share the strategic plans of the Government of Qatar providing insights into the policies and the focus on FDI post the World Cup. Jeroen leads the Investor Relations and Stakeholder Management department at the Investment Promotion Agency Qatar and has longstanding experience in developing, executing, and managing international public sector policies aimed at the business sector. Following his presentation, Jeroen will then join a panel consisting of the following people, with more panelists to be confirmed:

 

Kathrin Lemke - Manager, OCO Global, Qatar: Kathrin is OCO’s Manger in Doha, Qatar. Central to her career of 10+ years in economic development, trade and investment promotion has been building multiplier relationships around the world to foster trade and investment ties with the Middle East.

 

Wayne Merrick, Managing Director, CBD Corporate Services: Wayne is a business structuring and corporate services expert who has lived and worked for 13 years across multiple jurisdictions in the Middle East. With 10+ years of industry experience, he has assisted hundreds of international companies and investors with their market entry / corporate restructuring requirements in the UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi), Qatar, KSA, Kuwait, Oman and Bahrain. This has included home grown startups, SME’s and multi-national listed companies across multiple industry sectors such as Fintech, Education, Healthcare, Retail, Real Estate, Oil and Gas, Construction, Engineering, E-commerce, Events, Hospitality and F&B.

 

The panel will be moderated by Helen Barrett, Deputy Chair of the British Business Group Dubai and Northern Emirates and Partner at CBD Corporate Services: Helen is an English qualified solicitor who has been living and working in Dubai for 25 years. Prior to establishing CBD, Helen specialised in advising foreign investors on all aspects of foreign direct investment throughout the Middle East including corporate [re]structuring, company set-ups and mergers and acquisitions. Helen specialises in structuring businesses in the contracting, engineering, education, training, FMCG, IT, media and tourism sectors.
